Collaborating on a State-of-the-Art Hybrid Operating Room
Published in: FMT Healthcare
Cleanroom Combination Group recently marked a significant milestone in a decade-long collaboration with Groene Hart Hospital by completing a hybrid operating room in Gouda. In 2013, Cleanroom Combination Group, commissioned by J.P. van Eesteren, constructed six operating rooms and accompanying prep areas for Groene Hart Hospital. Ten years later, this partnership has returned to deliver a hybrid operating room, located in the hospital’s courtyard. This project combines innovation with functionality, utilizing sleek, smooth, and easily cleanable wall finishes and seamlessly integrated advanced technologies.
The realization of the hybrid OR for Groene Hart Hospital was the result of a well-coordinated construction team, consisting of: the client, Groene Hart Hospital; contractor J.P. van Eesteren; architect EGM Architecten; installer ULC; consultants Deerns and OKCN; and OR builder Cleanroom Combination Group. All parties look back with pride on a flawless and enjoyable collaboration, driven by a tight schedule that led to an outstanding result.
The new hybrid operating room integrates the capabilities of conventional surgery with radiographic imaging. This technological advancement reduces the need for repeated procedures, leading to fewer complications and faster recovery for patients. A notable addition is the C-arm, which moves around the patient via a ceiling-mounted rail. This device exemplifies the advanced technologies now available.
Over the past ten years, the Service & Maintenance (S&O) team of Cleanroom Combination Group has maintained the operating rooms built in 2013, ensuring their quality. This ongoing support has further strengthened the relationship with Groene Hart Hospital.
